Thank you, Jan Bottiglieri, for letting me know how to get a free copy of Brute Neighbors, a collection of prose, poetry, and photography focused on urban nature. My free copies came today and they were kind enough to send me three, plus three copies of A Writers’ Congress: Chicago Poets on Barak Obama’s Inauguration.
These books just came today and so, despite being told I was “boring” by a class I tried to write with today and despite a two-line form rejection letter, today is a good day. I have not yet had a chance to do more than skim these pages, but these are promising collections. And I am warmed by the generosity of the Depaul Poetry Institute.
