Spring seems to be the season for writing contests & I’ve started throwing my hat into a few rings.  Generally, since most have some reading fee attached, I’ve been looking for contests that offer a subscription for the reading fee or some other consolation prize.  I also look for publications I like so much that I would make a donation if I were financially able.

I noticed they didn’t include Wild Leaf Press, which I came across recently.  They not only send you a copy of their annual with the winning poems, but they offer to review a portion of a book length manuscript, too.
